Precious time with Aloha Jer

Jeremy flew to Penang last Thursday and we had a great time catching up. A few weeks ago, I received an email from him saying that he has finally managed to push his luck to arrange for flights to Penang! I was touched and naturally, I made it a point to meet up with him despite the fact that I was dead tired from work. On Thursday evening, as soon as he touched down the Penang Airport, he gave me a call using one of the crew’s mobile and said he had just reached. I went to Trader’s Hotel to pick him up and we went to Greenhouse for Prawn Noodle. I was so glad that he just so happen to be someone who enjoy local fares, as opposed to most pilots who are snobbish, playboys and egoists. Jeremy happen to be one of the nicest man I have ever known, and boy…he happens to be extremely good looking and humble too! Gawk!

Friday evening, I fetched him after work from his hotel again and we went to Northam Beach for more local fares. We chatted a lot..and he said he has arranged for another Penang flight next month and I was so, so delighted. We were drinking beers, enjoying the local Char Koay Tew, Pasembur, Poh Piah and Balitong…and chatted heartedly with each other, I knew it there and then, I am going to miss him a lot when he’s gone again. I was to meet Lina in SS that night so I invited Jer along…we proceeded to SS at 9.00pm, just nice to catch up with more chats before the party crowds move in. Ordered Long Island Tea…Lina and Harry came and joined us, and all of us got along very well. 10.00pm came, and it was time for Jer to stop drinking as he has to comply to the “stop-drinking-10-hours-prior-to-flights” rules by Cathay Pacific and ordered Coke from then on.

Jer sang along to the band on one of Phil Collins track and boy, he does have a GREAT voice! He said it runs in the Filipino blood. Jer is a Filipino-Chinese mix and he looks every little bit a Chinese! He shared with me pictures of Hawaii, the place where he grew up and told me about his dreams and goals in perfectly gentle American English which made my heart melted even more!

At 10.30pm, he excused himself to go back to his Hotel for his early flight on Saturday morning. He blew me a gentle peck on my cheek…held my hands…gave me a final, long and gentle look into my eyes…and hugged me tightly….

I miss you Jeremy…
